Corporate Tax Senior

We are seeking an accountant with solid grounding in accounting and a keen interest in developing their corporate tax skills. You will support a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, UK subsidiaries of international groups, charities, and other clients, working closely with them and senior team members.

This role will appeal to someone who enjoys responsibility, values direct client contact, and wants to expand their technical capability in a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for a wide range of clients.
  • Completing tax adjustments and preparing tax numbers and disclosures for statutory accounts.
  • Assisting clients with group tax reporting requirements.
  • Managing workflow to meet client expectations and compliance deadlines.

Client Communication & Relationship Management

  • Speaking and corresponding with clients to gather information, provide updates, and issue payment reminders, including those under the Quarterly Instalment Payments (QIP) regime.
  • Handling routine HMRC correspondence and liaising with officers when required.

Digital Reporting & Filing

  • Completing iXBRL tagging of accounts and computations before submission.
  • Assisting with ATED returns and ERS annual reporting

Advisory & Transactional Support

  • Supporting senior colleagues on a variety of transactional, employer tax, and general advisory matters.
  • Conducting initial research and preparing draft advice notes or calculations.
  • Helping coordinate UK tax requirements for companies within larger international groups.

Software & Systems

  • Confident use of CCH (including CCH Central and CCH Corporation Tax).
  • Experience preparing computations using Alphatax.
  • Strong Excel skills and a comfortable user of technology.

Candidate Profile
Technical Background

  • Strong accounting grounding (AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part‑qualified, or equivalent experience).
  • Solid understanding of UK corporation tax compliance processes.
  • Experience with statutory accounts tax provisioning and disclosure requirements.
  • Accountancy practice experience is essential.

Skills & Approach

  • Clear, approachable communicator able to explain technical points simply.
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable handling multiple deadlines.
  • Willing to take ownership while working collaboratively.
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated to grow both compliance and advisory skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to OMBs and UK subsidiaries of larger groups.
  • Confidence managing HMRC interactions.
