Simon has specialised in corporate finance for over 20 years, advising on company sales, management buy-outs and buy-ins, corporate acquisitions, raising finance, and valuations.
He was previously a partner at Baker Tilly where he successfully led the Birmingham M&A team for five years. Prior to that Simon spent seven years with EY’s corporate finance practice in the Midlands. He also had a spell in the corporate development team of a listed building materials company and at a healthcare start-up business.
Simon’s M&A skills have been recognised by industry peers in a series of accolades, including the prestigious Midlands Insider Deal of the Year. Recent transactions include the secondary buy-out of The Engineering Technology Group, the sale of Ingleby Care to Voyage Care, the acquisition of Cotswold Architectural Products by the US based Caldwell Manufacturing Company, and the management buy-out of Cat Tech International backed by Maven Capital. While he has worked across a wide range of industry sectors, Simon has particular experience in the industrial products and services, healthcare, and information technology sectors, and in private equity backed transactions.
In addition to M&A assignments, Simon is a valuations specialist and a member of the Panel of Experts of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is also co-chair of the Corporate and M&A Group of the TAG Alliances™, one of the top three independent professional services associations in the world.
