Premier Health Products, which is a brand owner and private label specialist in the nutraceutical sector, has secured good manufacturing practice standard from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

It will be subject to regular audits from the MHRA and see the business continue to expand into the medical sector – with the business having traditionally being a packaging partner for food supplements.

The business recently picked up The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade for the second time, but the internationally recognised accreditation is set to take the businesses’ exporting to the next level.

Premier Health Products has worked closely with accountancy firm Burgis & Bullock over the last decade – with support including guiding the business through the pandemic and into this period of growth.

It now employs 30 members of staff at its Tile Hill headquarters, having invested £3 million in the new 31,000 sq ft facility and fit-out in September 2020.

Further investment is now being made to overhaul the packing lines, update machinery and continue development across the site.

Premier Health Products already exports to 30 countries across the globe and is expecting that to expand as it sees the benefit of the MHRA accreditation.

Adam Petros, Commercial Director of Premier Health Products, said: “Securing this accreditation is huge news for us and will primarily assist with the exporting side of our business. It is internationally recognised and the UK is held up as the pinnacle of standards in this sector.

“We have some major projects on the horizon and they have been won as a result of the new accreditation from the MHRA. It is changing the way we work, the layout of our premises and the standards we work to.

“Burgis & Bullock has supported us since our formation as a limited company and have played a key role in supporting our growth – from tax guidance to business contracts and negotiations. The firm gave us great advice throughout the pandemic, guided us through and take steps to enable our current growth.

“The business has been able to make significant investment over the last couple of years, thanks to grant funding and the financial success of the business.

“We had a strong close to 2021 and have maintained that this year. Continued investment coupled with this new accreditation is all part of our wider five-year growth plan.”

Burgis & Bullock has offices in Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon. The firm has advised Premier Health Products since moved from a Partnership to form as a Limited Company in 2012.

Trevor Day, Head of Client Services at Burgis & Bullock, added: “We’ve worked with Adam and Simon at Premier Health Products for more than 10 years – and in that time the business has continued to go from strength to strength.

“The business has the foundations in place to continue its impressive growth and securing this key industry accreditation will provide a further boost. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the business as it continues to evolve.”
