Husband and wife open new Leicestershire dental practice

A husband and wife have opened the doors on a new dental practice in Husbands Bosworth – the first ever in the village near to Market Harborough and Lutterworth.

Dentist Dr Carmen Jimenez has now opened the new high street private practice and her husband Harry Leak, through his company KIO Developments, has led on the development of the property.

The new dental surgery will serve the growing population in the village, with an existing catchment area of more than 4,000 people.

Foxbury Dental will create jobs in the village with two nurses, a receptionist, a second and third dentist and a hygienist.

The nearest surgery to Husbands Bosworth was eight miles away in Lutterworth and Foxbury Dental is set to be of great benefit to residents in the village and surrounding areas.

It is part of a wider development on the high street by KIO Developments. The firm has also purchased two other properties and will be creating five new flats and renovating an existing cottage.

Carmen and Harry are expecting their second child in May and have been able to open the practice ahead of that time.

While preparing to open the practice they have taken expert advice from leading accountancy firm Burgis & Bullock, and Harry will continue to work closely with the firm as KIO Developments continues to grow.

Carmen said: “There is a great community feeling here in the village and that has only grown with the support everyone has shown each other during the pandemic.

“Our family is part of that community and we believe this new surgery will be a valuable resource to other people living in and around Husbands Bosworth.”

“To open my own practice has always been my goal as my dad had a practice on the ground floor of my house when I was growing up. It will also be walking distance from home and make it easier for me to spend time with my young family, which is set to grow in May!”

Harry added: “We have been living here for a few years now and identified there was an opportunity to open a practice.

“I set up KIO Developments and started looking to acquire premises. We went on to buy three properties on the high street and will be creating new homes for the village too.

“Burgis & Bullock have been fantastic since we started working together. They have given us the confidence to push forward with plans both for the surgery and other developments. We wanted an accountancy firm that really knew property and they have provided excellent support so far.

“There will be two flats above the practice. Then two doors down we bought another two buildings, one to be converted to three flats and other to be turned into a two-bed cottage. We are glad to be playing our part in the development of the village.”

Burgis & Bullock has offices in Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon. They have advised Harry and Carmen on cash flow forecasting, business management, tax, invoicing, purchasing property, VAT requirements, acquiring land and structures.

Grant Howard, Partner at Burgis & Bullock, said: “It’s not usual that a developer’s first project is a joint one with their other half but Carmen and Harry have fantastic drive and a real desire to improve the community they live in.

“We look forward to working closely with them both as they continue to grow both the dental surgery and the property business.”
