An independent electrical wholesaler is celebrating further expansion in Coventry and Warwickshire as it marks 20 years in business.
SRM Electrical, which was established in Leicester in 1998, is looking ahead to a bright future in the region after moving its head office to Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, as well as setting up a branch in Coventry.
The wholesale and distribution company, which offers a wide range of domestic, commercial, industrial, automation and motor control equipment, has massively increased its presence in the area and has been advised by
Burgis and Bullock.
SRM Electrical, which employs 40 staff, opened a branch on Budbrooke Road Industrial Estate, Warwick, in 2014 before expanding into Lythalls Lane Industrial Estate, Coventry.
While its presence in Leicester will continue, the move of its head office to the region represents a chance to explore new opportunities.
Bryan Stewart, Group Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “We had outgrown our original home in Leicester and as an ambitious company we wanted to continue to expand and move into different areas.
“Coventry and Warwickshire has a thriving economy and there is a great business community here which we wanted to be a part of.
“There is a very buoyant electrical contractor sector which we are tapping into, and they all seem extremely busy, which is good news for everyone.
“We have made a great start here and feel that we are making our mark, building contacts with businesses and creating a strong customer base.
“It’s important with such a strong sector to offer a high-quality service to our customers and with further expansion plans for new branches, we want to continue to develop into one of the leading suppliers within our industry.”
The company’s expansion in the Coventry and Warwickshire area has been aided by Trevor Day, who heads up the client services department at the Leamington Spa and Stratford offices of accountants Burgis and Bullock.
He said: “We have given advice on tax issues but more recently on general financial accounting in what has been a crucial period of growth for the company and one which sets them up for many more successful years ahead.
