Burgis & Bullock are always there if I need help and I don't feel like I'm interrupting anything. They do all our accounts so it's benefited us in that sense as I don't' have to worry about doing accounting and such.

Everyone we deal with at B&B are fabulous, from Ann on reception, Sue for our payroll services, Nigel for directors paperwork, Jack for taking ownership of our accounts for year end/ad hoc queries, Anne Ross for R&D chats/information, Sean for championing Xero/hosting education and network sessions, Eamonn for advising/looking after our personal future along with the self assessment team. Also we mustn't forget Trevor and Sharon for guiding and looking after us when we started business 16 years ago. Burgis & Bullock are very friendly, very efficient, and whenever I contact them there's always a response immediately. They give me helpful advice and feedback about how the business is doing, breakdowns etc. and what I need to keep my eye on. When I first started this business there was an ad for Johnathan Meredith who worked there at the time, offering a free consultation and I was in a very sticky place. I had that meeting and he was brilliant, and he was our accountant until he retired. He was so full of good advice; holding my hand, getting me started in business and sorting my problems. That level of service has continued since he retired. I've always had really helpful bookkeepers. You get personal service with them which is good.

I like that Burgis and Bullock are approachable, efficient, and friendly. They explain things in simple terms that I can understand. We're just winding up the business at the moment as we're retiring, but we wouldn't have managed the last nearly 20 years without their help. I only worked with a few other accounting firms and Burgis & Bullock are head and shoulders above the rest. They never talk down to us, no question has ever been too stupid, and they keep things simple.

I think Burgis & Bullock are generally approachable; normally if you have an enquiry or issue they get back to you very quickly. I use a full range of different services with them which has been interesting: General accounting advice, auditing the business, tax advice, as well with selling the business, so it's been nice to be able to do all of that with one company that knows and understands our business. The advice has been very clear and has helped us to make good decisions with different aspects of what we've done within the business. Generally the advice we've had has been very sound. Having worked with other businesses who've had complaints about their accountants I think in general we've had a very good experience with Burgis & Bullock.

I like the communication, and the ideas they put forward. I'm in a peer networking group that Burgis & Bullock arranged and I'm really enjoying it. If I have any questions Burgis & Bullock always answer clearly and to my understanding without a load of jargon. I would say that there's no nonsense with Burgis & Bullock; you give them a simple instruction and they just get on with it. They're not trying to do a sales pitch or anything, just giving us exactly what we want. We had another firm of accountants we had to sack and moved back to Burgis & Bullock. Working with Burgis & Bullock has benefitted us as it takes away the pressure. Tax returns, VAT, payroll, they just take it all away from us, ask us some initial questions and just get on with it, so it saves us time as we're not having to get involved in it all the time.

Burgis & Bullock are quick, efficient, and very organised. We are a very small outfit. It's a freehold property where there are 4 who share the freehold and we run the property on an annual basis. Burgis & Bullock do the financial statements for the company for the year, prepare the reports, and file with companies house. We supply the information and they do the job. Burgis & Bullock are very good at what they do. They were recommended to us around 20 years ago.

I like that Burgis & Bullock are friendly and helpful in their approach. They cut through the jargon for me. It's made our life very easy with their advice to actually spend widely within the business, and they have also given us some pointers on how we can do things differently as well. It's functional; Burgis & Bullock do what they're asked to do and it can be quite hard to find people who do what they're asked to do. Working with Burgis & Bullock keeps the tax man off my back. I've never used another accountant, but I've done work for Burgis & Bullock and I thought that it could work back the other way.

For me it's very clear, it's the personal touch; Nigel, who is our day to day accountant, is always there. Any time I pick up the phone, or send an email, there's no waiting and he's always on hand to help, whenever. Working with Burgis & Bullock has benefited our business massively. We're a really small company so we have limited footfall in the office. Working with Burgis & Bullock allows us to use our time and resource more efficiently. With Nigel coming in once a month it makes it so much easier for us. Our CEO engaged with Burgis & Bullock initially, about 15 years ago now. They were a local accountant with a good reputation, and knowing how he engages with companies I expect it was by referral.

Burgis & Bullock are extremely responsive and highly professional. They work remotely with Xero accounting software. It's just seamless; it just works really well. I've been with them now for 10-12 years, maybe more. I worked with one other company before and Burgis & Bullock are head and shoulders above them, providing accurate accounts that I've been able to rely upon. Burgis & Bullock assist me in planning as well, it's not just a historical accountancy service. They're extremely helpful in any way I want; They do my payroll, manage pensions for me, they do everything, and they're not terribly expensive compared with my previous company.

They do our VAT stuff for us, and annual reports and in general all sorts of enquiries regarding anything accounting related, but mostly VAT and payroll. I like the people, we've gotten to know each other very well so if there's an issue we talk to each other to solve it. It's all really good and they're like old friends. What they provide is essential to what we do. Everything works as expected. They get things done properly which is what we're looking for. I did use another accountant who seemed to be more remote, there was less communication, but with Burgis & Bullock we're just across the road so I just walk over to talk to them which is much better. They're all really good.

I like the one to one; the fact that they're quite a small business and the owner himself came out twice to visit us. They're local to us and they have specialists in different fields, so if we need something specific in accounting they can send someone who's a specialist in that field. Burgis & Bullock have saved me so much time because they do the VAT as well. I didn't realise how much time I was spending on all of it from payroll, to tax, to accounts, so they've just saved me so much time. Burgis & Bullock are the first accountants we've used and we were drawn to them as they're mainly local, and we got to speak to the owner, and he came to visit and brought somebody who specialised in payroll as we were interested in that too. They came to visit us, explained things simply, answered our questions, and were helpful.

I haven't been with them that long, and they're the third accountant I've had as the second retired and the first I wasn't happy with. Burgis & Bullock are responsive and helpful and I have no complaints. They have given me some useful advice regarding how I structure my business to make me more tax efficient so I would suggest that they've probably helped me to be more cost efficient. I was a sole trader and I wasn't sure whether I should go down the limited company route or partnership, they encouraged me to become a partnership with my wife; from a tax point of view that was a very good idea and saved me money. They're helping me a lot with the current VAT digitisation. Without exception they are the best and I'm really happy with them. They're a very nice firm to work with.
